ok, so to the post above me, "minimal prot" on my bar is just gaurdian w/o spirit bond, which means i can't prot anyone for an assacaster or rtl ele.

A lot of you have been hating on stances and praising gaurdian like it's god's gift to GW. I don't really understand this. Balanced stance is probly one of the most useful skills on my bar right now due to all the PS sins, Dev hammer wars, Shock RTL's, and assacasters. Disciplined is leet for removing the occasional daze. What I don't understand is how all of you say "learn to use gaurdian". You mention fast casting sets and fake outs, but every time you attempt to cast it you lose 5e (correct me if i'm wrong here). Sooooo, say for a piss poor scenario, i'm pre protted with gaurdian healing my team and dealing with a pro turret ranger. SA sin shadow steps in and rips through gaurdian like he's getting paid for it. I switch my sets and start my slight of hand hardcoreness to get guardian up quick while dodgeing the ranger and trying to kite the sin, but I have to cancel twice before i get it up, costing me 15e in the end and not healing my team in the mean time. This doesn't sound like a good situation.

Am i totally wrong here? Is there some sort of guide out strictly about the proper use of [gaurdian]? If so, can you throw me a link?

Between SB or spotless, I'd take spotless.

Between holy veil or cure hex I'd take veil for international district and cure hex for american / european. I use holy veil solely for the purpose of hoping there is a ranger on my team and veiling helps them interrupt stuff.

About the only hard prot I'd consider taking to RA is SoA. I really like it, it is much better than guardian to protect from gang rapes and PS / PR / hundred blades in particular that hit a lot of times. More importantly though it can be used on teammates. There are a lot of players in RA that won't even touch warrior secondary monks, instead choosing to train the most fragile person on your team the entire round. In that scenario SoA is often much more effective than guardian for damage prevention. It's just nice to have both on your bar with at least 11 prot.

I get by with balanced stance just fine stance wise.

Between the two you suggested I'd take spotless, however I have a tendency to run Cure Hex as a second removal now. The extra bar pusher helps if WoH or Patient get shut down some how.

Also I would definitely take Disciplined Stance in RA. It's okay to say in theory Guardian is all you need but in reality you are going to make mistakes or you're going to face something you couldn't have prevented/known and in those situations you need a failsafe skill to hopefully keep you alive. You will find yourself in a situation where you are KD'ed, or need to make an immediate cast without being interrupted. Guardian will not be up when you need it all the time. It will be interrupted at some stage vs a semi-decent team because you won't get the HCT or you won't have the energy/time to cancel spam. Accept that you're not flawless and bring skills that help prevent mistakes turning into losses.

if you already have two hex removals, exchange one for spotless and run something else. :P

even if people flame stances, don't hesitate to take one. balanced stance is a real goody and can save your ass a lot of times. even if guardian is so much more "honorable", it will eventually fail in certain situations.

i'd never take hard prots in ra anymore, though.

also, don't flame the guy too hard for RA, i do tend to like Cure hex as much as Veil.
What do you mean by hard protects Moko?
